Rhythm & Recall: Poems, Prayers & Memory Work (St. Therese Wednesdays Session C 10:40-11:25 a.m.) PreK-8th

Our memory class is a dynamic and engaging program designed for young children to learn prayers, poems, and academic memory work through movement and interactive games, while older kids do the same adding in spelling and vocabulary practice.

Rooted in the belief that children learn best when their bodies and minds work together, this class transforms memorization into an exciting, hands-on experience.

Each session incorporates a blend of song, rhythm, and motion to help children internalize beautiful prayers, classic poetry, and foundational academic concepts such as letter sounds, numbers, and early vocabulary. Through clapping games, hopping patterns, call-and-response chants, and storytelling with gestures, children engage their whole selves in the learning process.

Activities are designed to be age-appropriate, faith-filled, and joyful, fostering a love for language, rhythm, and foundational knowledge in a way that feels like play. Whether marching to a beat while reciting a verse, acting out the meaning of a poem, or using simple hand motions to recall key concepts, children will build a strong memory while developing coordination, confidence, and creativity.

This class is perfect for homeschool families seeking a nurturing, faith-centered, and movement-based approach to early learning!

Required Materials: Throughout the year the teacher may request items such as colored scarves, maracas, finger puppets & bean bags - so be on the lookout at thrift stores for sets of 10 or more.

** All classes require online family registration and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
