There are approximately one million reasons why Anne loves homeschooling, not the least of which is having the ability to tailor instruction to the specific needs of each child. She has been “officially” teaching her own kids for over 18 years. She and her husband Eustace have 5 kids, ranging in age from 21-10. Amongst those kids, there are a variety of learning styles and struggles, including significant developmental delay and learning differences (Autism, ADHD, spina bifida/hydrocephalus, ESL, non-verbal learning disorder). Anne has learned over time that finding a pace that works and using a child’s strengths and interests to facilitate learning are helpful tools in teaching all kids.
Her educational background is in physical therapy (BS in PT Indiana University, MS in Allied Health Ohio State University). Before having kids, she worked in rehab and acute hospitals, retirement communities and home health.
In recent decades, Anne has been busy leading 4H groups, leading/teaching religious Ed and homeschool co-op classes, and teaching dance (she especially loves tap!). She is a certified RhythmWorks instructor (dance for special needs).
