Classical Composition (St. Therese Mondays Session B 9:50-10:35 a.m.) 5th-8th
An immersive and dynamic class designed to elevate students' writing, spelling, and vocabulary skills Classical Composition integrates themes from across the curriculum. This course integrates structured lessons, hands-on projects, and the Spelling Scholars program to create a comprehensive learning experience.
Each class begins with a brief introduction to a new writing concept. This segment ensures that all students fully understand the material, which is crucial for their success.
Composition Corner
Students will gather materials from the Composition Corner to work on their in-class projects. This time is dedicated to hands-on practice, allowing students to develop their writing skills through guided activities.
Spelling Scholars Integration
Throughout the class, the Spelling Scholars program is integrated to reinforce spelling skills. Students in each level will take a spelling test and grade each other’s work. This ensures consistent practice and improvement in spelling.
Writer's Workshop
Four times a year, the Writer's Workshop will feature interactive stations where students can engage in self-directed activities. The teacher ensures smooth rotation to avoid congestion and maximize participation.

Required Materials: Natural Speller, Kathryn Stout (1 per family for 1st-8th grades)

** All classes require online family registration
and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
