Classical Grammar (St. Therese Wednesdays Session B 9:50-10:35 a.m.) 1st-4th
Course Description:
Grammar and punctuation songs, games, practice, chants and cheers may make this class your child’s favorite! We’ll systematically work through grammar, punctuation and poetry in an engaging way. Rather than ask parents to purchase a workbook, one is included in this class for 3rd & 4th graders. Younger students are welcome to “play” with the workbook, but in 1st and 2nd grade, they don’t need much more in the way of English than the class and at home song memorization provides.
For grammar homework, you are welcome to use and grade any grammar program you would prefer. Our teachers are not grading your students' workbooks, so those will need graded by you to catch mistakes your child is making and re-teach that concept.
You are really free to choose whatever grammar program you would like, our lessons are keyed to our mixed grade workbook, and those will be the ones suggested in the homework.
Poetry memorization will be taught in the classroom, but must be practiced and reinforced at home. Students should spend about 10 minutes per day on their poetry memorization.

** All classes require online family registration
and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
