Classical Catholic Grammar (St. Therese Wednesdays Session B 9:50-10:35 a.m.) 5th-8th
Discover the world of grammar, punctuation, and poetry in an engaging and dynamic class. Through games, memory work, songs, and creative language activities, students will learn to master and enjoy the English language.
Grammar Homework
You have the flexibility to choose any grammar program for your child's homework, which you will need to grade yourself. This allows you to identify and address any mistakes directly.
Required Materials: One of the recommended grammar workbooks
While our lessons align with Analytical Grammar, you may find other programs better suited to your child's needs:
- Seton English: For a more challenging, intensive Catholic experience. The answers are included, so no teacher’s manual is required. Example: Seton English 7 for a 7th grader.
- Analytical Grammar: Our preferred program if you are not Catholic.
- Winston Grammar: Ideal for students needing a simpler approach. Be sure to use the entire program, including the cards.
- Easy Grammar: A solid option for remedial grammar work, though it is repetitive.
Even if not all programs align perfectly with our lesson plans, they cover similar material over the year.
Poetry Assignments
Your child will also receive poetry assignments to be explored in class. Daily practice of 10-15 minutes at home is recommended to reinforce their learning.
This comprehensive class ensures students build a solid foundation in English through a variety of engaging activities and tailored homework support.

** All classes require online family registration
and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
