Latina Christiana (St. Therese Mondays Session B 9:50-10:35 a.m.) 5th-8th
Course Description:
This class offers a gentle and enjoyable introduction to Latin for children. Over four semesters (two years), we will work through Latina Christiana I, ensuring students achieve mastery before progressing. The class includes engaging activities like games, songs, puzzles, and chants, along with worksheets and chanting practice to be completed at home (approximately 20 minutes per day, three times per week).
Pronunciation
We use ecclesiastical pronunciation, which differs slightly from classical Latin. Although the vocabulary and grammar remain the same, switching between pronunciations requires only minor adjustments. It’s most appropriately referred to as church latin.
Parental Support
Parents will have access to audio files for student practice on non-class days. Additionally, all supplemental weekly materials, including flashcards and posters, will be provided to parents to reinforce learning at home.
This class aims to make learning Latin a fun and interactive experience for young students, while also ensuring they build a strong foundation in the language.
Required Materials: access to internet, Latina christiana Student Text, 20 minutes per day reviewing.

** All classes require online family registration
and enrollment. Year-long classes carry a $50 yearly enrollment fee. This enrolls your student in the class for the entire year. There is no need to re-enroll for 2nd semester. The cost of the class is due no later than the first day of each semester in an envelope labeled with your student's name & the class name with cash or a check made out to the teacher. Registration and Enrollment Fees are non-refundable.
